Default 93 SC 400 A/C problem

Hi all,
I have a 93 SC 400 and my A/C which had an evaporator core leak was replaced with a new core. The A/C has been working great since, however I noticed recently on occasion my A/C button light would start blinking and the compressor would not kick in. If I turned the system off and back on a few times the light and system stays on with cold A/C. This trouble has been getting progressively more frequent and I am wondering if it may be a wiring problem or that my compressor may be going out. Obviously when the A/C switch is blinking the compressor is not working and there is no cold air. So where do I begin to try to diagnose the problem?

I had a issue with my AC last year when I bought my SC400. The AC would work for about 5 minutes and then the compressor would kick off and I would get that infamous green blinking light on the climate control inside. It had normal PSI on high and low side, and system was filled up with proper amount of 134. I went through and replaced my expansion valve, high pressure switch?, and the rpm sensor (not sure what that one is called its been awhile) on the actual compressor. None of this worked and the problem ended up being the actual Climate Control unit inside the car had died and was telling the compressor to shut off. I hope this helps you good luck!

Default Cllimate control unit problem?

Thanks for the reply....So how did you resolve the problem? Did you purchase a new or rebuilt climate control unit ?

Dude,

You definitely want to start with a pressure check of the high and low sides while the engine is running. Your problem could simply be a small leak or signs of a tiring compressor, etc. A pressure check will give you that information.
