Question Air intake on SC300

I have a 96 SC300 and I just want to install a cone air filter with the stock intake system. Any ideas on how to do this?

Waste of money, do what lookEVO suggests.

I understand the BFI method. Is there a way to detach just my stock air filter and install a cone? Because I already have a cone air filter so I'm not wasting any money.

Here the process...you will also have to remove the snorkel that leads up to the air box. I'll try to find that DIY process.

You just need a Toyota MAF adaptor plate and a hose clamp, assuming your one filter is 3" size.

I wouldnt remove the snorkel as it feeds air right into the intake since it takes air from in front of the car, your better off leaving it and getting a cone filter that looks like this:

This way it sucks more air in easier

Any gains from this? I'm doubting it makes any more power than a stock box with a K&N or something.

+4000hp.

Seriously though - engine gets to breath a little better, there's more intake sound at WOT, and no need to buy OEM air filters anymore. That's about it.

There is NO BETTER INTAKE MOD THAN THE BFI.

END OF DISCUSSION. Unless you are planning on a turbo, dont bother. If you wanna replace the piping in between the MAF and the TB, that may be fine, but dont replace the airbox. seriously, all you do is suck in hot air by using a cone filter.

WRONG DISCUSSION the dude just wants to install a cone filter on a stock intake. He said nothing about "I wanna cut stuff and open stuff and get more air in stuff"

And my point is to dissuade him from it because it is a terrible idea.

Thanks guys! I got my answer. That diagram is exactly what I needed. And of course, I wouldn't post a thread before doing my research. I couldn't find any, that's why I posted it. I appreciate all your time and effort.
