Default HKS T04S turbo help

Hey everyone, im in need of some help.

I am wondering if this would be a good turbo to pick up. All i really want to know is if its a good spooling turbo, that can make about 500hp on my 1jzgte. I dont want something that comes alive only at 4000rpm though.
So if anyone can help me out, itll really help me.

This is from the guys add. He said $650 for the turbo.

The compressor housing is a .70 AR and the Exhaust housing is a 1.00 AR. The inlet dia is 4" and the outlet is 2.5". I have one V-band clamp adaptor and clamp that can weld into the exhaust side outlet. the exhaust inlet is a standard T-04.

I had a 1.15 exh housing on a 2j and it came alive 4k+

A 1.00 on a 2.5 liter prob gonna be the same ,I'd find one with a smaller exh housing

TO4S is baller, but decreasing the hotside will make it choke.

I would find a BW S360 or something of the like.

BB CHRA are crazy expensive to rebuild, so make sure you don't buy a $650 lemon, only to put a $1200 CHRA in it!

^ Your are 100% correct

1.00AR and it's divided so really it won't be laggy but it will not spool like the stock twins either.

Like he said BW s360 or S362 will do exactly what you want and the rebuild kit is $50 which i know you will never need!!!

8875 or 8375 will do the job and you can get them brand new at the same price your will be paying for the that used HKS t04s.

I had a precision pte 67BB that needed a rebuild, precision wanted $1150.00 for the cartidge ( center section)

While i could have bought the brand new Turbo for $1100 shipped with 1year warranty.

At the end i gave the turbo away to my buddy who ended up sending it canada to get it rebuild for $800.

If you don't mind me asking why gtx though?is it just a personal preference? Because I know alot of cheaper Turbo that will blow that gtx all day, will make more HP and two and cheaper to rebuild when that time comes.

What ones Quicksc4? I'm not even done my build yet but I'm already looking for a bigger turbo. Been looking into BW EFR and GTX so enlighten me on these cheaper turbos :P

Well from what i heard is that they spool very well and make good power.

I know i will never get the spool of the twins and im fine with that, i just dont want want something too laggy.

People keep telling me to get a bigger turbo but im not really looking for something crazy. 550 would be my max hp if anything. And i really want a twin scroll as well.

EFR is very nice but they are still on back order from like 1year and half lol.GTX in my opinion is over rated.
Depending on your power goal they are alot of street turbos out there that will last you 5-7 years without needing a rebuild , spool faster than the gtx and make great power.

the 8375 (s360) will max out around 605rwhp depending on your setup.
8875(s362) will make 750 rwhp no problem again depending on your setup.
9179 (s366) i think will be a little over kill for your setup if 550 is the max.
SO if i was you i would get the S362 and use the remining $1100 towards your car , upgrad the clutch and other stuff that you need.
You dont need the biggest turbo to make power, so don't buy a big .
buy something that will meet your goals , you can buy these BW brand new from $650/700 with a 1year warranty which you won't even need anyway..
Gl my friend.

Yes S200SX 7670 is nice but if you want to have room to grow , so if any day you wantt more power you don't have to buy another Turbo if you have right supporting mods !Just turn up the Boost and go from there. Dont buy a Turbo that you will max out .
