Just bought my 95 sc300 need help with door indicator killing my battery!
| have searched this all over, looked the car over and i cant find anything. Im new to Lexus and i dont want to mess something that i dont know about more then what it is already. I came across a steal of a deal. a 1995 Lexus SC300. it had been hit on the passenger side door at the end and the beginning of the quater panel. knowing how to replace the door and quater panel i knew what i was getting myself into i thought to go ahead and take a look at the car. everything looks good exept the pass side damage. amazingly only had 118k miles on it and they wanted $1950. talked them down to $1000! the guy said the battery is bad but if u jump start it it runs fine. replaced the batter to find out it was not bad it just had something drawing power all the time. well while washing the car i noticed my door open indicator light on the dash was on. opened the drive side closed it, nothin opened the trunk shut it, nothing. opened the pass side noticed the door light was unhooked and realized that the pass side being hit somehow is saying the door is open when it is not... how do i get it to say it is closed until i replace the damaged body parts? i could not find any switch or button to manually press to shut it off... any help is greatly apriciated in advance!
PS SORRY FOR THE LONG DESCRIPTION

i was thinking it is a stuck open switch since the pass side door is smashed in at the lock mechanism. but i dont know if the actual switch is in the door or on the quarter panel or in the latch system. would'nt happen to know where it is located would you?

there is the door chime swtich that might be the culprit, when u open the door look on the body near, where the hinge is there should be a push button that if u tape down will stop the light. that is if everthing is working properly

LOCATED!!!! actually the indicator is in the latch itself. the damage on the door pushed the hinge back just enough to where the door latches securely but not enough to engage the switch to read closed. Im ordering a 1/4 cut of a SC300 next week and a complete door to replace all the pass side damage and be rid of that terrible eyesore body damage.. cant wait for it to look clean again
