Upgrade 1jzgte...
with this! http://store.driftmotion.com/static/...anifoldkit.php
has anyone done it? before you start trash talking the ct26, it's very upgradeable to a 57 or 60 trim, and can put some serious power down.

thoughts? opinions?
mine is its one of the easiest and cheapest upgrades to a decent (toyota not ebay) turbo

on one hand you have a good turbo with good response and reliable. Not terribly expensive route compared to other similarly sized turbos.
on the downside it's hard to find the DM kit as Aaron doesn't make the kit anymore. And once you find all the bits and pieces to your turbo setup you'll find it might not be as much as a turbo from one of the big guys but you might as well have spent an extra $500 or so for a name brand turbo.
It has it's ups an downs, but overall i would go for it. If you decide to go this route, i do have the DM manifold for the CT-26

i was thinking this was the route because i have a spare ct26 (should have kept my bored 60 trim) then it's a Megan down pipe, 125, and an adapter and or lengthened exhaust (dont know how it fabs up) I have no problems having performance techniques rebuild me a ct26 garret. (still uses the toyota exhaust wheel/ shaft)
Budget break down-
CT26/Garrett rebuild- 450
megan downpipe- 125 (should have kept this too)
mis gaskets and custom work- 200
sub total- 775
dm manifold?
total cost, is cheaper than DM turbo kit.
STILL WOULD NEED
injectors, 150
dyno tune 100
Would like
FMIC + piping
225
total cost 1250. tuned and ready to go.

^^ what are you using as a tuning tool? If you don't have one you might want to add that into the mix as well. If you don't have anything like an AFC right off the bat, you can get away with running stock CT26 boost levels on the 1JZ until you can afford bigger HP necessities. As for price on a DM manifold, i picked mine up for $120 off of supramania. im still deciding if i want to keep it right now so PM me if you're interested at all
