More power in the lower gears
Is there something I can do to get more power in the lower RPM's? It seems that the SC4 is a little slow on the start...Now I am no racer so maybe I'm just not driving it right..lol It seems great on speed once I've gone through all the gears...man wishing they came in a manual...

there is a thread that discuss unplugging a sensor thats located on the transmission. i tried this and there is a noticalbe difference when moving off. The sensor make to tranny slip when shifting so you get a smoother ride,so with it disconnected you are getting all the power. i will search and try to find the thread.

Keep in mind the 1UZ doesn't produce peak torque until 4400rpm, and I find the transmission upshifts too quickly to make use of this, keeping the car feeling sluggish from 2000-3000rpm a lot of the time unless you really get on it.
Here's the aforementioned thread:

I find myself using O/D off and using '2' a lot of the time around town because the transmission doesn't seem eager enough to downshift sometimes. I also have adjusted my TPS and now the car holds first gear for a bit longer, which definitely makes it feel less sluggish from a standstill. There is a thread on that too somewhere but I can't dig it up at the moment.

you want more rpm without getting into it? shift manually at 4000. pretty useless, though, as when I'm just putting around, the shifting and power are just fine. When I need to get into it is when I am dissatisfied
I keep hearing about all these 1uz's with no power... I don't have that, and it makes me wonder what's WRONG with my car...
