99 sc300 auto to 5spd with w58 ???? help !!!
OK, i have a sc300 w58 trans and shifter, i have a stage 3 w58 clutch for my trans.....im missing my flywheel, which i can not seem to figure out which one i need to use. "What year flywheel do i need to get or a mkIII or MKIv, i have searched and came up with alot but some say both of them will work" ~!!!!!!! so i dont know which one to get. That is the only thing im missing besides my clutch pedal bracket and master and slave cylinder.
Also if any of you have a flywheel i can buy lmk or a pedal setup or master and slave cylinder that would be great. |
The flywheel should be the same one from a 92+ SC300 5 speed or 93+ supra (5 speed) and should mate up to your car without issues.
|
so thats the MKIV supra right which is 93+ ? and the MK3 wont work ? just asking about the mk3 cause its more available where i am
|
flywheel from any 2jz non-turbo 5 spd...
|
Also can't find much on it. Will I have any issues on the auto ecu ? Do i need to wire the car so it thinks its on netrual. Cel isn't a big deal I have no emmisions in sc. Getting my comp flywheel next week so checking to see if I will have any unforseen problems. Any help would b appreciated

Kyle,
You'll probably have a CEL due to an auto OBD-II ECU. The ECU will want to see an automatic trans, but there won't be one. You'll also need to modify the harness slightly so you're reverse lights will work. The 3 pin speed sensor plug on the auto trans pigtail will still allow your speedo to work. Lemme look at some pinouts I have here and I'll shoot you a text. |
Sweet man thanks

Wow, Tweak giving out free wiring help! What is the world coming to? ;)
Anyways, the Clutch pedal can be sourced from a MKIII supra. Just got to do a little fab to the firewall. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...-my-sc400.html |
Cam is one of my boys !!! All who u no

Runvs, Tweak is correct in that you will be getting a CEL light with this swap.
Search for threads created by Cartmill regarding this. He managed to solve the problem. Primarily, you must remove the shift solenoids from your automatic transmission (or buy a used blown auto trans for your car if you don't have one and take from that) and keep them on your vehicle plugged into the car's wiring harness. The ECU will then get the signals it wants. There is also some other stuff Cartmill covered regarding the neutral and reverse signals to the ECU. Good luck! |
Kyle,
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Things have been kinda crazy around here with us getting ready for SEMA and everything. There are some wires you'll need to add in as well from the trans pigtail to the body plugs. On your car, your speedo is controlled from your ABS system, so that will still work just fine. If you can live with a CEL, I can deff modify your harness to look OEM and work with that manual trans. spoolxexo - never said the work was free;) I was just giving Kyle a heads up with he's gonna need to look into -Cam, Tweak'd Performance |
