Default Oil Feed line question

So I am going to put an inline filter on my oil feed line for my turbo but I was wondering If i would be possible to also put a oil pressure sensor on the line after the filter before the turbo. That way if I see a drop in pressure I can check the filter to see if its clogged or not. Anyone ever do this before? What would I need to put in the sensor?

I'm just trying to protect a 1500 dollar turbo. Spending $100 on a sensor doesnt seem like a waste of money to me.

I'm sure summit sells an adapter fitting for a oil sensor. It'll be a T fitting, with the middle fitting for the sensor being a female and the two ends are male.

As HiPSI said your going to need a "t" fitting, but:

A simple search on any auto/performance parts website would have sufficed. Order/find the gauge/sending unit you want first, the acquire the appropriate "t" fitting. Me personally, I wouldnt want it right before the turbo, I would place it right at the feed source, either your union bolt or the sandwich place. The gauge/sending unit doesnt care if its filtered oil, but once if by chance you loose pressure that far into the line, its already too late.

unless you never change your oil and filter there is no way the filter can get clogged... i have never heard that happening..

^It can happen it you spun a bearing , throw a rod, distroy from HD PP your thrust washers i have seen it happen where you distroy the turbo and score the cam journals.
Engine block was trashed, head, cams and turbo everything

And like Chris said just put the oil switch before the oil line, what he said make sense.

I wasn't talking about the normal oil filter but an inline filter such as

http://store.forcedperformance.net/P...4ANFilter.html

I know most of you knew what I was talking about but I don't think you all did.

I also figured i would need some type of t-fitting but I wasn't sure exactly how an oil pressure sensor looked/worked so I wasn't sure.

the more connections you have on your feed line the more places it can leak from.
