Default 1.5JZ Power loss-Bad Clutch or Bad Turbo?

Today on my way to work I got on the feeway on-ramp and decided to open her up in Full throttle in 3rd gear. Everything seemed fine until I decelerated to get off the freeway(one exit). The car started to smell like burnt rubber/burned tires.

So I proceeded on the main street. When I accelerate slowly it drives OK but when I get on the gas, it almost feels like the clutch is SLIPPING cause the RPMs would go up but there would be no power.

Im thinking its the new POS clutch I bought(has about 4k miles). After the install I been getting a chatter in 1st and Reverse gears when the car is in operating temprature, never happens when its cold. I really dont know how a bad turbo feels like, first time boosting.

Theres no fluids leaking, no smoke from the turbos. What do you all think from this?

Well if your RPM's go up and car does not move, bad clutch, I could think is rear main seal went bad or not installed properly if you replace it leaking oil to the clutch disk, you can check it through the boot on the side of the tranny, remember to use jacks stands.

I second that, A bad clutch. What brand and stage are you using? Did you buy it new or used? Did you resurface the flywheel?

Its a no name brand I got from the parts store brand new. My nephew knows the owners and they hooked it up for $90 for whole kit. I didnt need the clutch kit cause my old clutch was still good, all we needed was the pilot bearing but they told me to get a new clutch since it was coming out.

Flywheel was resurfaced since last clutch was dropped in. Looks like Im clutch shopping, thx
