Rear Diff Question.

Ok So we all know how the companion flange has to be changed and how to do it but how bout the ears on the side? I started taking the bolts out around each axle ear and only pried it out a half inch and it seemed tough. So I brought it to the trans shop and he said he doesn't mess with diffs really and that I should bolt the ear housings back up and pry the ear itself out? He said they should pop rite out with a few good hits with a hammer and pry bar.

This seem rite, anyone change these before?

Someone must have had to change this before

Do the stub axles even have to be changed? I thought they were the same between SC and auto Supra. At any rate, here is how to remove the M/T ones, and I suspect the autos are the same or similar.

^ Hey thanks Stockhatch ya I just found this link as well http://www.max-boost.co.uk/max-boost...AXLE_SHAFT.PDF for anyone interested. Looks like they just pry out like a cv axle would on a fwd car.

And ya...lol I gotta change the damn things:sad: Nothings easy, its from an 01 LS430. Companion flange is a little bigger (has to be changed) Then the axle cups are bigger. Looks like I got some work to do today.

And on a positive note clean up the New R154 and get ready for install this wknd.
