Nice write up.. I know it may seem things dont go your way while doing these type of installs, but in the end.......... ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY!

I was using straight manual driveshaft, but you can use manual up front and auto in rear.

First of all, very nice write-up.

Question: Did you have to cut your cars tunnel or shave the tranny in any way to get it to fit?

Someone told me for 97 and up sc300s you have to cut the tunnel or shave the tranny. Is this true? I dont see where it would hit the tunnel.
Please advise.

onesforpaw the auto hole sits too far back in the tunnel so you have to cut a hole closer to the dash for the shifter to poke through. hope that answers your question.

I just traded my w58 for an R154 so I'll be starting the auto to manual swap soon. Thanks for the writeup! This is the best auto to manual guide I could find.

Doing the same thing pretty soon...have a 95 5 speed donor car, interior and trans getting swapped into a 97. Here's to it going smooth for the both of us. Cheers!
