There are 3 pins total per cap. No adhesives. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...p/DSCN3901.jpg Be certain not to scratch the chrome as you do this.. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...p/DSCN3902.jpg Step 2: Shave off Infiniti logo using Dremel or sandpaper. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...p/DSCN3903.jpg Step 3: Level the surface by applying body filler/bondo and primer it. (I don't have good pictures for this step as my hands were dirty. I apologize.) Step 4: Take the Lexus caps and xerox the surface to create template. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...p/DSCN3904.jpg Step 5: Cut them out individually. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...p/DSCN3905.jpg Step 6: Make small rectangular incisions where the pins are located. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...p/DSCN3906.jpg Test fit. Perfect! http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...p/DSCN3907.jpg Step 7: Take the template and center them onto the Infiniti caps. Tape them securely. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...p/DSCN4006.jpg Use a small drill bit to make holes. (I could only find this blurry pic but you'll get the idea.:D) http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...p/DSCN4008.jpg Step 8: Color and clear the center cap using spray cans. (flame suit recommended for colors other than OEM silver. ;)) Once dry, place the Lexus emblem on. Secure them in the back using JB weld or equivalent. Install! http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...p/DSCN4010.jpg Common sight../Before http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...p/DSCN4012.jpg A missing puzzle placed!/After http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...p/DSCN4015.jpg Close up. (Please don't mind the scratches on wheels. :() http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...p/DSCN4016.jpg Last step: Step back and enjoy your hard work. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...p/DSCN4017.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...p/DSCN4018.jpg |

Very sexy :) Nice writeup, if I didn't already have L badges on my rims I'd be doing this.
|
WOW great work! I NEVER knew that the lexus emblems on the caps were a clip on... this then applies to just about any center cap for whatever wheel you would buy. NICE
