I have a sc with a 1jz swap and i have custom 3inch exhaust into a HKS carbon titanium muffler and it looks and sounds AWESOME!!! so i say look into the HKS carbon titanium cat back and you will be happy

also weighs less in the rear end.. stock muffs are heavy

Emilio253 May 16, 2011 08:45 AM

yeah you should definitely trim down those muffs.

SC51 May 16, 2011 08:52 AM

Since its a 1J then the single is prob going to sound better, and less weight. You can always do dual its your preference.

The single exhaust would weigh less. Duals look better though.

If you go with the single, fill in the other hole on the bumper.

Single ruins the SC making it look like just another regular car on the road. I have the stock dual exhaust it looks more sporty & sexy

Kaydee May 16, 2011 10:27 AM

remember you want a straight exhaust (less bends and restrictions for the gases to travel through) so since your car has a 1j swap, all the exhaust comes out from only one bank of the engine... why mess with something straight and add an unnecessary bend to make it dual?

LukeNag May 16, 2011 10:28 AM

I would say dual like what i am going for but its mainly all about what you like

michaelisf May 16, 2011 02:09 PM

It has a single muff was thinking putting hks hi power muffs one on each side i think it looks better but if just 1 muffler performs better i guess i will just leave it?

account2x May 16, 2011 03:14 PM

duals r quieter
duals look more sexy less ricey. a 4in downpipe can become 3in duals.

michaelisf May 16, 2011 05:32 PM

does anyone have a pics or know a link to a pics on how the stock sc300 dual mufflers look with oem piping? i think im gonna buy another hks hipower muffler and do same pattern with the oem style but 3" piping for my 1jz engine swap, i wanna see underneath the car on how the oem piping looks any links would be kool thanks
