Default 1JZ-GTE Non VVTI lately?

I'm starting to believe I want to go the 1JZ route but JHOT and JARCO don't supply the engines anymore. Has anyone gotten a 1JZ-GTE that is non-VVTI and came out of a Soarer lately? If so, who from? East cost would be better since I'm in NC. Then I was starting to wonder if the Non-VVTI ones are just too old now and not as easy to find as they were a few years ago.

Look on eBay but here is the real question. Why wouldn't you want VVT-i? The VVT-i and single turbo on the 1JZ gives you about twice the low-end torque. Now that the VVT-i pinouts are available in English I do not see any reason not to get one. Newer and more powerful what is not to like?

I was always under the impression that not many people have done a VVTI sway. If someone in North Carolina and wants to help out, I'd be willing to go that route. It just seemed like most people said to stay away from the VVTI.

Yes from my understanding the wiring is the only true difference between the engines. If you pay someone to do the wiring for you this should not even be a factor.

The other noticeable difference is the VVT-i engines require a MAF sensor. From my understanding the 2JZ-GTE VVT-i MAF is not available in America but the 1JZ-GTE VVT-i MAF does cross-reference to a US sensor. If the engine to buy comes with the sensor then you do not even need to worry about locating one.
