How too quiet my fuel pumps...
How are you guys quieting your aftermarket fuel pumps? I have 2 Bosch 044's intake and they are pretty damn loud. Ive wrapped the fuel tank with dynamat and that helped some, but I think if I stop it at the source, I'll be golden.
TIA

Stockhatch> Youre seriously suggesting I buy 2 Denso's when I paid $300+ for 2 Bosch's? You got deep pockets bro
Yup, dynamated the tank.

It was cool in my old hot rods, but I am after a different result with the Lexus. Namely, I want it to be quiet, low, smooth, and fast, with all the creature comforts.
I guess once you get to a certain hp level, it becomes harder to meet all those requirements.
To each their own though, I do agree that mechanical noise is pretty cool in most cases

A friend of mine is using an externally mounted Weldon fuel pump with the supplied fuel controller. It allows the fuel pump to run noticeably quieter by lowering the voltage when not under load. It then kicks on by rpm or boost pressure signal. Amazingly enough the pump is barely noticeable off load and under load at full boost, the engine and exhaust tunes it out.
By the way, Weldons are substantially louder than any in tank pump.
I do not see why it would not work with other fuel pumps, since it manipulates the voltage under load. One thing I could see happening is a particular pump that requires "x" amount of voltage to operate.
Downside is it would cost just as much as swapping out to Densos.
