Unhappy Sc300 heater control valve leak!!

There is a small dripping leak from the heater control valve or the hose that connects to it on the bottom.

My question is that can the heater control valve just be removed or by passed? so I dont have to buy a new one for $400? Also is the any diy fixes for this?

The leak should be an easy fix...Just wrap a small towel or T-shirt to soak up all the leaking coolant until you can get a replacement....That's what I did LOL!
