Default Cases Of Fires?

I went to the junkyard yesterday. The SC300 I was under the hood of had what looked like minor fire. About 2ft of wires that would be coming from the positive terminal of the battery looked charred. There was that white powdery corrosion crap, too, along the length of those wires.

How many cases were there with electrical fires? I guess specifically all factory wiring related.

I have came across two separate instances where SC's have caught fire under the hood. Both were near the battery location and fuse box. I think the corporate was faulty aftermarket wiring myself. I don't know the details on either cases.
