sc400 swapping rear end : gears 4.10 vs. LSD
Another free mod it´s cutting the pink/black stripped wire which controls solenoid 4 to make your auto shift harder. If it´s when you get third when he give away, there´s nothing to do with the ratios. Make it run better with other mods! I know you can have it with not much.
Hey Snowfox, I'm from Maine too.
I run a shop called Spec-C Tuning and Fabrication.
Mustangs can be tricky, but there is no way a 3000gt will beat you.
Either way, nothing a little nitrous or boost can't fix!
I'm in New Gloucester if you are close and want to check it out.

Well.... why not do both lsd and 4.10s???
Also your friend is blowing smoke up your ***, his bullitt mustang DOES NOT have 307 hp stock, in fact hed be hard pressed to hit that number without some cams. Go laugh at him for being a typical mustang liar

I guess I would have no idea since I owned multiple of both cars and have run them both in the 1/4 mile.
My current sc400 is by a good margin slower than my old 97 3000gt non turbo.

I guarantee you! that XSPSI6 knows exactly what he is talking about, especially since he is an OLD SKOOL DSM'r... Chitown old skool DSM'ers ain't no Joke, especially since we had Adam D from Devo tuning, AMS around the other corner, I am an Old Galant VR4 owner as well, I remember your car from galantvr4.org
Respect is due where it is needed, XSPSI6 has owned DSM-MKIV-SC-Evos.. the man knows..

I've been doin this since 98'.
The man don't know about 91 octane, which is what this lady can get for her sc400, which is the same place I live.
Still following?
91 octane will not make a heavy non-turbo pig like the 3000gt do 14.9, sorry.
I agree xspsi6 is a schooled enthusiast, but as soon as someone else does something for this community like the very first Pre-obd logger for Toyota, I can safely say my experience in this particular matter will trump fans making "testimonies".
When someone from the mid-west that has 93 octane fuel available asks a question, you guys can chime in all you want!

Yeah I see what you mean about 91 octance vs 93 oct, I don't know what XSPSI6 has an he moved to Florida a few years ago..
Back on topic, I would swap to a 4.27 vs the 4.10 1st & try it out, especially if they are doing 1/8 mile racing.. what free mods can you do to the SC400???
I know the car can take a 125 nitrous shot without going boom...
An LSD does more than just hook up. It's also a component that affects handling. Any LSD is better than an open diff. I'd recommend the 4.27 (4.30 is a similar ratio for IS300/MK3/Cressida diffs) or 4.08 but with an LSD installed-- pricey but the best of both worlds. 3.769 from a stock TT auto diff is only going to help you if you're increasing the engine power with forced induction... Or perhaps a 4.7 Tundra bottom end.
