Default What WG spring should I use?

1JZ, single turbo, tial 44.

What waste gate spring pressure would be recommended for a street driven 1JZ. looking to make in the 500-600hp range in the end. Right now my Tial MV-R has a 1.0 bar spring. Going to the dyno soon and want to stay in the 400's hp for now. Should I get a lower spring?

Thanks.

The wastegate will help you regulate base boost pressure. Depends on how much boost you want to run as "low boost". I wouldn't necessarily say the wastegate will "get" you to you power goals but "keep" you there.

Go with what ever your injectors can handle..get bigger injectors later and pair it with an ebc, then up the boost to your liking.

Basically I need to know what others experiences are. I would like a spring pressure that will keep me under 400 but still be able to reach 500-600hp. (edit) reach 500-600 with a ebc.

thanks.

1 spring wont do that. If you want that kind of adjust-ability, go with a Synapse WG..otherwise your going to have to settle with a 12-15psi spring, and get a boost controller. But basing your HP on just the WG spring is almost impossible to do without knowing what other mods have been done with the engine...cams/manifold/turbo specs/injectors/etc..

well my mv-r has a brown, maroon, grey springs. which make it 1 bar. looks like i will take out the brown which will lower it to 0.8 bar. to start. or pull out the grey to make it a 0.6 bar. and use my boost cont. to go from there.

thanks.

I'm pretty sure most waste gate has 2 ports that you can create equal pressure on both side of the diaphragm so it does not open before you want it too.

Rule of thumb is you can go 12psi over what your wastegate spring is rated to. Look at some dyno graphs and make a decision.
