Default Need some thoughts

Ok so i have a sc300 and i have got my mind set on 2jzgte im trying to reach for 400hp. With that in mind i was looking at http://jdmtigerjapanese.com/details.php?id=1639

or

http://jdmtigerjapanese.com/details.php?id=1640

I would like comments on that seller and how that engine looks. I looked up a "recipe" for 400hp and it said Intake -Bov ( do i only need 1 for tt ) - exhaust - downpipe-boost controller- boost cut controller.

I am still trying to piece together a list of parts i will need for this swap into my sc300.

Thanks guys

Ive heard a lot of bad things about tiger so be aware. You only need one bov.
For 400 hp id recommend a fmic, get usdm tt cams, and something to tune the car like a piggy back. That of course is an addition to the parts youve already listed. Even with that its not a guarntee 400 whp.

Is 400 your max goal? If it is, I would not worry about swapping in a GTE, the GE would be more than plenty for that. It's the transmissions in our cars that can't take the beating. May be better off putting the money from a GTE swap into a R154 transmission.

right now all i want is 400hp im sure ill end up wanting more lol but the thing is my engine has 208k miles on it and the transmission ( auto ) is skipping 2nd gear in drive and not engaging into od. so i figure i have a sum of money incoming and i might as well get a new engine with more hp and and a new transmission with it. then do a few mods before it hits the car and get it nice and fixed. I had a 89 supra and i loooved the boost ( as little as it was ) and im sure ill get addicted and want more so why not be prepared lol.

if you are dead set on a swap, stay far away from tiger. A MKIII guy that went to school with me got his engine from there. His harness was hacked and both turbos junk, suprised he even got the thing running (still runs like crap). If you want a good engine, expect to pay more for it. Trust me it will work for the long run.

Jhot. It may take some time, but they have good prices, good customer support and engines in good condition. I wish i had waited longer and ordered through them
