Could a 12v mod and a Walbro fuel pump be causing my misfire?

Exclamation Could a 12v mod and a Walbro fuel pump be causing my misfire?

We've solved all the cylinders which we're misfiring but cylinder 3 is persistent and continues to misfire. We're gonna check the injector for number 3 to see if that solves it. But it just crossed my mind I have a 12v mod and a Walbro aftermarket fuel pump.

Thanks in advance any who give thoughts.

Ashtray-

if it was, it would be affecting all the cylinders, not just one. What does the spark plug look like when you pull it? Do you have A/F numbers? Is it a constant misfire, or is it random?

Im not sure if constant or random as its at the shop. Ive got a feel its the injector because if it was the 12v mod or fuel pump they would all be affected.

So far we've decided its the fuel injector. The plug on cylinder 3 looked fine when it was pulled out and we checked the compression which is almost near perfect. When the injector was checked they found that it was flooding the hell out of the cylinder because it wouldnt close, it would just stay open from the get go. Not till Friday that the injector comes in so I'll update you all then.

12v mod is probably helping if anything.
I use the 12v + walbro and my only complaint is how noisy the walbro is.
If its the injector then consider getting the rest checked/cleaned or even a whole new set.

Yea well I could agree on the walbro being loud as heck. As for the other injectors...theres no telling when they'll crap out, but all the other cylinder misfires were due to arching so thats gone. its just 3 that had a bad injector.

edit: will have them checked/cleaned.

probably why im going to spend the extra dough for a Denso TT pump. The only complaint about my 12V mod is i have a code stored for the fuel pump circuit, but it's not hurting performance.

The Denso TT pump is really a shiny extra penny man. and if you cruise with windows down or radio blasting, the pump aint that bad...come to think of it, with your windows up and even radio off...if you are running a custom made straight pipe exhaust, it covers it well enough.

That may be so, but im looking for a decent street machine that i doesn't require earplugs to enjoy. Im building something that has some power to kick around and have fun, but also enough comfort and civility to enjoy when im not stomping on the throttle, hence the TT pump. Also, i work at toyota and a lot of the older guys here swear by Denso products and their quality, so if i have to pay a little extra for some peace and quiet than so be it.

No need to explain yourself man, the Denso TT pump is better and much more civilized than a Walbro. I may upgarde once paychecks roll in. Ill update everyone on my misfire problem this Friday and hopefully its all worked out.
