Default SC400 general performance mods

I have a SC400 that is basically stock except for the 19" stern st-2 rims and magnaflow 14829 mufflers. The car has around 97k miles and is on the original timing belt (gonna change that when school is out).

What are the best ways to boost performance without spending a fortune? I'm looking for a good CAI kit. Can anyone point me to one? And the car shifts a bit early IMO, around 5500rpm instead of the 6500rpm redline. What could be causing that?
