Default OBDII swap possible?

I have been digging for info on this swap and have found very little.

Someone said that to swap an OBDII car with a 2jzgte and retain the OBDII port function is "tricky". It seems like running a USDM OBDII supra ecu through a hybrid harness would make this swap easily doable.

What am I missing here? I imagine finding said ECU would be tough, but other than that and the obvious harness tweaking, what else would one need to convert?

Ok, just FYI, I contacted Dr Tweak, and he did verify that an OBDII swap is possible if one uses an OBDII USDM Supra ecu and does the appropriate harness mods. Again, this is just an FYI to update this thread.

I always suspected it was doable with an US odb2 supra TT ecu.
If your car is originally odb2, you could use the same philosophy as using a odb1TT ecu in an odb1 SC. just wire up the extra ignition wires and plug in the supra ecu. there may be more with the odb2 stuff but i doubt it.

heres my thread with the diagrams for odb1.

Yep, good info I was glad to hear that an OBDII swap is doable, since it is much easier to find a really nice low mile SC when the 96+ cars become an option. Not to mention the nice color combos and interiors available in the later cars...
