Unhappy help!!! power steering issue...

car is 95 sc300, 148k, auto alright i first thought that my car maybe had a crank pulley giong bad because it was making a loud screeching noise in the mornings...but with further investigation, i've discovered that it only does it when i turn the wheels all the way left or right... this screeching noise im takling about is ridiculously loud like when it happens i want to shut my car off and act like it shut off lol...yeah its embarassing....just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what route they took ie; swapped ps hose, rack n pinion, ps pump?? my pump isnt winding nor does it appear to be leaking anywhere, and the hose looks and feels okay....im going to check the fluid again tommorrow because it didnt start doing it until i went by a pep boys for an oil change...def not doing that again... the guy didnt know the car was mine and i was in there, and he couldnt find how much oil went back in and he said "ehh ill put 4",i then proceeded to raise the bullsh!! t flag lol...anyways any help or guidance would be appreciated thanx in advance..
-David

Thats why you do all the work yourself. Either that or go to a TRUSTED mechanic shop every other shop "mechanic" doesn't give a jack about your car plus they are inexperienced. i had a horrible squeel/creak/screech/sound when i turn or took a sharp turn, not only the sound but my steering wheel will fight back . After the flush the car felt totally different i took hard turns fast uturns no sound no nothing.

Week later i heard a small screeching sound coming from the front and i just topped the PS off and it went away

Best 15$ i ever spent! All you need is 2 quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic ATF

It is pretty simple to do it would be a lot easier with 2 people. I was able to do mine in less than 30 minutes most of the time just slacking off and talking with my buddie.

so did the power steering flush no bubble or anything....wasnt that hard....still have screaming noise.....this time i actually went up to the front of my car and watched the drivebelt and gave it some throttle...when it made the noise my drive belt went back and forth pretty rapidly on the drive belt tensioner pulley......im starting to think this is an issue with the crank pulley...cause when it stopped making the noise and i gave it throttle the belt didnt move back in forth all eratically....

I would remove the belt and check all the pulleys by hand to make sure the bearings feel good. I would also check the belt tensioner to make sure its putting the proper tension on the belt.

When i had a problem with my crank pulley it squeeled non stop one morning (which i ignored) and about 5 miles later there was a loud bang and i just saw the outer ring of my crank pully in my rear view mirror. Now i never ignore any unusal noises. Lesson learned.
