Ive searched, does anyone have pics of how they welded there dump tube back into exhaust, open WG is getting obnoxious I'd rather hear the turbo.

My one piece of advice doing this is to be sure and add a small flex section in your dump tube (hard to find the little stuff 1.5" or so but motorcycle shop carry it usually). The heat variation and vibration can do some nasty things to your dump tube welds and also your manifold where the WG bolts up. Also, run it dowsntream a bit and angle it gradually into your main exhaust. Don't run it 90 degrees in. As soon as my SC is out of paint, routing my dump is my #1 priority as it is open now too.

Ive used flex (temp exhaust) before on my previous car, it seems to weaken and rust fast, I dunno if this is the same stuff your talking about?

No....the stuff I'm talking about is the stainless weave flex like people run on downpipes, etc....just smaller.....not the ribbed stuff. It'll probably run you $20+ for a short 4" or so section, but the car will rust down long before the flex section. On my friends car that we routed his dump into the exhaust, we didn't use flex and it cracked the pipe from the manifold collector (not a cheap fix). The WG had been open dump for a year no issues but the heat expansion after routing the dump tube apparently stressed the WG. After fixing and adding the flex, it's been bulletproof for 2 years of spirited drivng and racing.

Is this recommended? I seem to recall reading somewhere that you gotta do it a certain way to where it doesnt disrupt the natural flow or something like that.

yeah, you need to have it coming in at an angle for flow and to help prevent boost creep, but If you have a good flowing exhaust (at least 3") then you should be good for the most part, you don't want any major restrictions after the wastegate.

Great, I have exactly 3inch piping all the way back.

Edit: What size pipe is normally used on the wastegate? Just the size of the outlet hole??

Thanks Ali, Ya I saw that post..made alot of power!! (ashtray) Just get flex for watever size dump you have, should slip rite over. I have HKS 40mm so its a 1.5" dump tube so I ordered 1.5"flex as well.

Dump came in today but couldn't install cause it wont fit, whoever designs these manifolds etc is an idiot, its got no room to mount under there Looks like I have to have it cut and re-welded so it instantly 90's down from gate, gradual 90 on dump tube wont cut it..

first thing I did was cut the dump tube immediately after the first bend (or in the middle, can't remember exactly). I couldn't even fit it in the engine bay at first. its not a biggie though, just be aware that the dumptube piping is really thick and you may need an angle grinder to cut it cause my chain pipe cutters only made a slight scratch on the surface. grinder got er done though.
