EGR Valve stuck shut..?

EGR Valve stuck shut..?
Alright, so my old mechanic told me my egr valve was stuck shut... I'm not getting the CEL, and the person I have working on my car now says that the CEL would come on if it was. Basically I'm wondering if the CEL would definitely come on if it was in fact stuck shut??

why ask this question? what problems are you experiencing with your car.
if its stuck shut and youre not getting a code then praise the lord. egr is dumb. one of the first modification to my car was to remove it. no negative side effects and clean intake runners now for years.
