Default New ACT HDG6 racing clutch installed.

...and I've never had so much accleration, holy speed on speed watching speed while doing speed and thinking about speed!

I'll try and get pics up of the install, just had to share with the CL kinfolk. Friends, this clutch makes the 1JZ a 1Jholycrapwe'residewaysZ.

thanks, previous clutch was from the 92 SC300, it was dead. The new one somewhat streetable, by the time 1st gear is smoothing out I'm doing about 35mph though, which is great.

Awesome! I was wondering what you decided on. I'll probably use this same one..this is a great clutch design. It has a pucked disc, but it's also a 'sprung' disc!

That and you can use the HD ACT pressure plate so you dont blow out the thrust bearing and get crankwalk as with the now infamous 'ACT Xtreme' P plate

Word, yeah this thing is no joke, 200lb pressure pedal is giving me a wicked left calf muscle! I had no idea my car was this powerful until I got this clutch, it is amazing. I stalled out today, giggled, then started it back up and took off. I haven't 'gotten on it' yet, even though my mech told me this clutch was good to go right out of the box without warmup miles, but I'm going to give it 2 or 300 miles to break in anyway...shhhiiii, it'll take me that long to figure out 1st gear perfectly.

Whats the tq rating on the clutch? I have a southbend feramic 6-puck that holds my power no problem but its hell for dd and difficult to launch for drag.

the tq rating, I think you mean the highest possible torque output for it? The max hp I know is 427. For DD it's alright, I've only clocked just over 100 miles on it and it's becoming pretty smooth. As far as launching, I'm giving it some break in time (even though my mech said it didn't need it) but I can tell you this - say I'm running 3500rpm in 3rd and I take my foot off the throttle, there isn't any hard deceleration, just smoothness. That difference I can tell from the old clutch.
