Starter? Orrrr?
Sup guys!
Again, my car has problems. LOL. (I'm really crying inside P
So, I've searched and searched and noticed that most of these guys that have starter issues on their SC4's are able to start the car even after a couple of clicks.
I'm taking this sort of as a warning sign that the starter will be going soon (or contacts). So, my question is: my car is clicking, doing the typical sounds and what not but the car started ABSOLUTELY GREAT the day before. No hard starts, nothing of the sort. Is it typical for there to be some clicking and hard starts before the starter goes out completely?
I've checked fuses and relays and they are good. Battery connections are good, etc., etc..
I just don't want to go through all of this crap and it be something else I'm not aware of.
Also, I've heard you can skip taking off the fuel rails and injectors.
True? It looks pretty straight forward until i get to disconnecting all the fuel lines and what not.
Thanks CL. I'm gay for you all. LOLOL.

It will click before it goes out completely. If it starts to click and won't engage, bump the starter with the key a few times. That will usually get you by until it goes out completely.

I will try that, LexusFTW. Thank you.
Btw, I love your car's setup.
edit: bump the starter? I'd have to take everything off just to get to it so I might as well replace it.

So I finally got bored and said screw it, I'm doing this.
Just had enough day light to take off everything up to the throttle body.
Man, I almost smacked a cop trying to figure out where that fourth bolt was.
I finally started peeking around and saw the head of a bolt through all the throttle cable pulleys and thought, " OMG. OMG. :| "
lol. Just keeping up w/ updates.
Tomorrow, granted I have the time, I will attack the intake mani and see if I can get around w/ out removing the Fuel rail.

K. Quick update before I'm off to class.
Tore apart the beast v8. It was a pain in the *** taking the bottom part of the intake mani out, but I got it!
Here's some questions that I hope you guys don't mind reading/answering:
1. All the harness plugs going into the injectors snapped. Well, the little part that allows you to remove the harness from the injectors.
Common? Quick remedy? They will plug back in fine, but I don't want them to back out.
2. After taking everything off I noticed that there was some residual oil on the intake gaskets (going into the cylinders).
What would this be? Is it something that should be addressed ASAP? orrr?
If I find anything else I have a question with, I will get back on and ask.
Again, just trying to keep updated. Thanks foo's and foolettes.

Where would that wiring be located?
I want to inspect it now! haha. Thanks bro!
I have a question. I had thirty minutes or so to take a look at my car before class so I did and quickly unbolted and ALMOST removed the coolant bridge in the back. I say almost because the wiring harness wont move out of the way!
I unscrewed the two bolts holding it there but it still wont move.
So much cracking plastic. lol
