New to the site I'm gonna be looking at a 93 in a couple days all I know it "it runs n drives" 133k auto, needs tires, exhaust leak n needs insp. I'm not worried about it I'm a mechanic. I think he said it's a 1jz but I'm not sure. But always liked the car but I love the engines. He wants anywhere from 1500-2000 n just seeing if that's worth it or not. It would definitely be a project car n it seems pretty cheap. Any help would do thanks

You'll definitely wanna find out exactly what engine he has in there cuz if it's a 1jz that means it was swapped. Definitely a desirable swap, but you never know what kind of hack job your getting good yourself into, and with your brief description of the car it sounds like it's a mess. A properly swapped 1jz should be closer to the $5k mark (if not over if it's in real nice shape).

So basically your buying a stock sc300 for 1500-2000. Try to get him lower, it's an average price for something that doesn't sound like it in very good condition. But you get what you pay for in that price range.

Just got done looking at the car it's black paint still looks good it was dark out but outside n inside were not to bad at all the some of the dash lights were out. Seats were in good condition. But the motor sounded good besides the exhaust leak at the manifold I believe. I'm getting it towed to my shop tomorrow so I can get a look underneath of it. But not as bad as I thought it was gonna be
