Question How high do you rev your stock 2JZGE?

During normal commute/daily drive, how high do you regularly twist your 2JZGE? 3000, 4000, 5000?

My 97 has 130k miles, runs great and doesn't use any oil, but I'm hesitant to take it above 4000rpm on a regular basis. I plan on keeping it for a long time!

Anyone here with long-term experience?

Thanks much,
Harpo

1UZ heads are too restrictive...winding this motor does anything but speed.

i run my 2jz pretty hard but i run all synthetic oils so thats makes me feel better, ONE TIME i hit 7200 by accident i was at redline in third thought i shifted to fourth, but it was second i immidiately pushed the clutch in so it was at 7200 for about 1 second, even if your a really good driver you need to always pay attention to your shifts especially 3-4 while shifting at high rpm , this only happened once and i learned from my mistake

93' 180,000mile 2jz. I usually take it up to 5000-5200 at least one a day. I never go to 6000 during dd, but on ocassion i like to take it up there just to make sure its still got it lol.

I granny shift at 2k in a futile atempt to save gas. But when I do push it I shift at 6k.

thats nonsense their had to have been something wrong with the tach i think that 9000 rpm on a stock 2jz-ge would cause valvetrain damage or damage the bearings
