Default Poor performance 96 sc300

Need suggestions, my 96 sc300 has under 76k miles its an automatic and gets really decent gas mileage I average 21-24mpg and thats a mix of city and highway. Its had all the maintenance done and a recent tune up. However the car does not perform anywhere near like my n/a Supra did my best 1/4 time is 17.49 dont even ask about 60 foot and no the car is not loosing traction I couldnt get it to even if I wanted to. Im not concerned about smokey burnouts but I think the car sould run better than 17.49. Any suggestions?

car should run deep into the mid to high 16s stock. try changing the plugs clean your airfilter and try a new cap n rotor.

Did the tune up stuff and there are no stored codes, I run 93 octane and the car still cant get out of its own way. It wont even break traction on a wet road and yes the traction control was off. It does not miss or stumble, no hesitation and gets good mileage its just a pig. I dont want to throw a turbo kit on it and end up chasing problems so any help would be appreciated.
