Default Question about using Auto Brake pedal on a Manual Car

Okay, I just installed my SC300 in place of the MK3 pedal on the SC... Makes a world of difference, I hate the MK3 pedal on the SC lol... it was a bad cheap out.

Anyways, after installing the pedal, I notice that the design of the Auto Brake pedal makes the arm sit really close to the clutch pedal. When I press down on the clutch pedal, my shoe sometimes gets caught on the brake pedal arm.

I know the way to fix this is get the manual arm.. $80 or so later.

Has anyone cut and welded a new arm in place of it? I can weld it, no big deal, just has anyone modified the brake pedal arm yet? I would like ideas.

Matt

I have never look at the auto brake pedal of a sc before. But when I had my 240sx and did a 5speed swap. I just cut about a inch or so off the left side of the pedal and put the 5 speed rubber pad over it. You would never be able to tell.

No no no, lol not the pedal itself, the arm that holds it. I already cut the pedal and put a pad over it. Its just that the arm itself is close to the travel of the clutch pedal.. my foot hits the brake pedal's arm when I push down on the clutch.

oh sorry read it wrong. I would check the local junk yards, or find some one parting one out. If not $80 aint that bad. I would go against cutting and then welding it.

not really relevent matt bbut my clutch pedal broke. same as bigwavesc.

im guessing its from the clutch kicks from drifting, causing the metal to snap right where the pin hole is for teh master cylinder

i rewelded it and it seems good as new.

I get you... around the weak point it breaks. I cannot fathom that for the brake pedal though... $80 isnt horrible, I have a million projects going on... Every dollar counts to finishing them, lol.
