sc310hp

Well i pulled my pcv valve off and it looks new and it still rattles when i shake it so i know its not gummed up. But i can blow and suck through it, Im not sure but arnt u supposto only be able to suck air through it? is it no good? it is a brown plastic, is it a cheap o, should i buy a stock lexus one? any imput appriciated thanks
