Default What is this goo/part?

Noticed a few spots on the driveway and started looking under the hood. It's like sticky melted rubber. It's dripped on to the oil filter and a few other things. What part is toast? '99 SC400

See on this picture on the lower left that same module is for the hydraulic clutch fan.

I would have to see the exact part name ,but it is either a hydraulic pressure solenoid, hydraulic fluid temp sensor,or a fan clutch switch of some kind. That is a point in the right direction I could get a for sure answer Monday if you can wait.

Look on the underside of your hood. Is there anything that resembles that "goo" coming from your hood? Now that its summer and starting to heat up, sealant/adhesive will ooze out and drip onto the radiator support, etc. Very common in Corollas and Camry's, wondering if your 400 is the same.

Alright I searched it up at my work and it is a hydraulic motor control vavle. Controls the flow of fluid to the fan to make it either spin faster or slower. My cost was $135.31 yours might be $200 or so ,but that is what your looking at it if you want to replace it new. You might have better luck finding one at a yard for much cheaper.

^^^ If it keeps heating up and dripping out you will have some kind of possible cooling issue. Plus it will make a mess over time once it heats up and starts dripping all over the place. If you can't afford it go to a yard and pull a good used one off or post in the classified section for a wanted part.
