SC400 Vs 3000GT
My buddy has a 3000GT, its a 98 5 speed manual (Stock)
I have an 94 SC400, with the BFI, Lextreme TC, 18" wheels
HE SMOKED me fro ma dead stop - on the highway he wouldn't stand a chance, but it take couple seconds for me to pass him -
Is this normal? I mean its a V8 vs a V6, an automatic Vs stick shift, I might understand that he beats me from a dead stop, but not SMOKE THE SH|T out of me!

he's all wheel drive, he hooks alot better than you ever will, and if it was a vr4 then its actually a pretty fast car, they were right there with the supra tt and 300zx's for 0-60 times and whatnot. the awd realllllllyyyy helps.

If he has a manual tranny, you can brake-torque the car at launch. Have the shifter at D with O/D off. Left foot holds the brake, and right foot revs up the gas. At about 2800 RPM, your car should feel like it starts moving, but don't let it burn out. That's when you release the brake and floor the gas. The car will launch much quicker like a manual. Then turn on O/D when the car is around 50 mph, or you'll go slower.
His V6 may be lighter, so that's why he could be faster.

I dont think thats normal. I raced a 3000GT from a stop light and I stayed ahead just a little bit. Through it all. He had intake and exhuast. Dont brake "boost" that much dude. #1 its not good to do it that hard, and when I had my NEO which showed Throttle position I only put it down 15% and it worked PERFECT. anymore and it floods it out almost. Just try to do it a little lighter, maybe at like 1,800-2000 RPM. Its better I promise.

Since its a 5 speed its not a vr-4. you have no chance against it a vr4. But you also didn't say whether it was a base, or SL.
SC400's don't like dead stop pulls. the No 4 Solenoid in the transmission reduces power so theres less squat when you do that.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=380511 Try cutting the wire from the ecu, and race your friend. I'm sure it wont be as bad as before.

I have noticed one thing, when I do the Brake+Gas thing, my car revs at 2100 RPM not at 2800 RPM - Does that mean that my stall converter is not a 2800 RPM
As for the 4th soleinoid, I am going to disconnect it this weekend - He is not a VR4, and it is a Front Wheel drive - it's a SL
Thanks for ur relies
