Driving...WTF...Then there was smoke!
You guessed it, its a wtf happened to my 1uz thread! So im driving to work after i changed my oil. After i idled it for about 20 min to make sure no leaks as i normally do (after my DSM nightmares). I shower hop in and drive to work, on the fwy i notice the car isnt accelerating as normal. I tell myself no cel, temp is good, motor sounds normal maybe its just me. I drive 18 miles to work and as i pull into the lot to park i hear a clacking noise, the temp sky rockets, i put it in park in a spot (super far from my work). My feet get hot and smoke comes from under hood and the smell of burnt oil fills the cabin. I pop the hood, no fire, its all good and say EFF it i need to go into work before im late.
I get to work, im suppose to do a tour for a royal saudi group, i wait 1.5 hours to have them effin cancel. Im walkin back to the office and a friggin dolphin almost smoked me with a bball (bastards). The hot trainers in wetsuits cheered me up for a min, they say hi, we talk.
So i get back to my car, my friend uses her AAA and i get a free tow (YES!!!). So the effin driver lowered the flat bed sit in the car turns it on and drives itup the ramp and even smokes the tires a bit. (makes me upset, i just told him my motor is shot or something is busted and he drives it up the ramp...idiot)
I get it home, it starts, idles smooth, makes a lil noise but no engine vibration and no smoke. The water neck at the hight point in the system is bubbling coolant out. other than that nothing, i didnt pull the code cuz it was getting dark but i still have a code 13 from waaay back when. Oh and there is a film of oil spray on the back end of the car!
So anyone have any ideas? is it shot, broken, just a weird gremelin, do i need a perf build 1uz or a 2j/1j swap...maybe even the 5.7 swap? Enlighten me my sc brethren!!

the motor has no vibrations, i am starting to think the clacking was the motor deiseling out. I found a crack that runs along the water neck on the thermostat housing, Going to test that thermostat. Pulled the coolant sensor underneath the ignition wires and the plug snapped off with me touching it...im guessing thats bad too! the car still runs fine too when its cold right now.

maybe your thermostat went out..did you recheck your oil level? any crack from the radiator hoses? it's cheap and easy to replace the thermostat..you can start from there..if there is no others leak or crack found!
