Front Main Seal Oil Leak. Seems to be very common in these cars. I just spent around $900 to get it fixed because you need to get the timing belt removed. It's a big job.

It is sc300. it seems oil is leaking from bellow that belt tensioner there is hole on timing cover nd look like is leaking there . I also see some oil around valve cover gasket. when valve cover gaskets are replace the manual shows that we have to use FIPG do we just put some in back or front because it state we need to apply it to cylinder head.

One or both of the cam seals are leaking. There's a plate that diverts the oil down behind the timing belt so it doesn't get oily..and that's what your seeing most likely.
You apply fipg to the head surface like the book indicates, around the front cam caps, and at the back of the valve covers.

Fipg can it purchased at pepboys such as gray rtv or do I have to get it from lexus dealer or toyota? In order to replace cam seal I would have to do timing belt as well what is involved?
I had seen that carson toyota sells timing belt seals what seals are good idea to replace at time of timing belt?
