Default what are symptoms of bad mounts?

I'm thinking that either my transmission or my engine mount is dead because there is a very slight vibration when idling, but before I spend money on stuff I don't need, I need some opinions and experiences...

I'm wondering the samething, the reason why I'm going to change mine is because when I start the car or accelerate somewhat hard I can feel the engine move backwards. Also when starting the car you can see the engine move back a good amount.
