ticking noise when ac blower is on
Hey guys, I've got quandry. I pulled my AC blower motor and cleaned out everything really good even though I didn't see anything in there really but the tick persists. It sounds almost like when leaves were in my ranger's blower.
So here's my question:
will replacing the blower fix this or is there another thing that can make this noise in the AC system?

I have a 96 300 with the same issue. I only hear the ticking on fan speed 1. Fan speed 2 & 3 sound normal for the most part. Fan speed 4 sounds like there might be some obstruction but I haven't looked at any of the components. 75k original miles. Please share any of your findings.
Thanks

i replaced it and the obnoxious ticking is gone. however, i think the motor just does that and over time it gets louder. if you listen down by your feet you can hear the ticking kind of. the one i pulled out was an aftermarket VDO type, same thing i replaced it with, so i'm wondering if the original owner went through the same thing. when the car is on i can't hear anything at all now where before i could hear it with the stereo on and the car running.
Anyhow, its not hard to do and you don't need to remove the dash to do it. takes about 30 minutes if you've done it before.
