Idle Control Valve Interchangable? (1995)
new guy here
curious if anyone has tried this with their IACV
I have a 1995 sc4 and i think i IACV might be bad. went to the junk yard today and pulled one off a 93 and they are different. mine is one piece (cant take it apart to get to bearings) and the new one i have i am able to pull apart and clean etc. does anyone know if i can switch my one piece with the older version? it looks almost identical except for some mechanical parts in the mechanism. just curious as to if anyone has tried this b/c i dont want to buy a brand new one and it is impossible to find a IACV from a 95 or 96.
thanks!
(EDIT) SORRY. I i thought i put this under the maintenance threads. Please move is necessary.

Okay i just did the changeout for anyone who was interested in knowing this. The hose that goes from the valve to the Intake Pipe is smaller in size so turns out you would have to get the intake from a previous year SC4 to fit the hose that goes to the older year SC4 correctly unless you are able to fab a hose to fit snug. i did the initial startup and the car idled at about 300 and after about 10 seconds the idle rose to 800ish and seemed to be pretty stable (mind you i dont have a hose that will fit snug). no CEL. I am resetting the computer to see if maybe the ecu needs to re learn the different IACV. Other than that it bolts up the same and the coolant lines also fit perfect. anyone with any info they can add please do b/c i have never done this before and this is all my observations so far.
thanks
