Yeah... it sucks.. lol

The pedal goes into the floor, not the firewall. You need to extend the piston to even bleed it... I cannot get a good bleed on it because im only using 2/3 of the entire stroke (hitting floor). It does not bolt up to the cross beam under the dash so it wiggles when its bolted to the master cylinder (the firewall isnt THAT strong)... Its starting to tear the firewall because of the extra support not being there.

I think thats all my gripes... all in all, it sucks and I cannot wait for the new pedal .

A couple of notes.

I am not responsible if you mess up.

Main Parts

1uzfe W58 Swap Kit (Quantum-Auto.com)
-Adapter Plate
-Flywheel (Steel or Aluminum depending how deep your pockets are)
-Pressure Plate
-Full Face DF Clutch
-Clutch Lines
-Howe Bearing Spacer
-Alignment Tool
-Pilot Bearing
-Bolts to attach adapter plate to the bellhousing

Parts you need to source
W58 Transmission from a MK4 Supra OR SC300 - Any year - DO NOT USE AN MK3 Supra W58
Howe 82870 Throwout Bearing
SC300 Clutch Pedal
SC300 Master Cylinder
SC300 Manual Driveshaft
Shifter Bezel Trim Piece
Shift ****

Modifications - Rated 1-10 (1 easy, 10 hard) scale

Cut the transmission tunnel for shifter to poke through (2/10)
Drill out the 2 small holes in the stock transmission crossmember (1/10)
Drill bellhousing for hydraulic lines to stick through (1/10)
Grind down bellhousing in certain areas for clearance (I think there were 3 locations) - (3/10)

Thanks Sean for taking photos
Man I only got through reading the 2nd page and you've completed your swap. You are not f'in around are you? Nice job. Would I have a problem doing this on the 98 vvti sc400? I"m considering the r154. Would that be pretty similar to yours?

Is there a noticeable physical difference between the MKIII tranny and the MKIV/SC3 tranny?

Pics?

Very nice write up Redpheonix!! Definitely going to do a manual swap in the future. Auto is nice and all but it would be nice to have a manual transmission again especially in the SC400.

The difference is the shifter will land in a different area. I am not 100% sure if the spline is the same for the driveshaft either.

I cannot give you exact dimensions, still waiting for someone to try it.

This may be a dumb question, but by bridging the NSS, will this allow the car to start without the clutch depressed? Reason I ask is that I have a remote start and I'd like to retain its functionality.

Correct, I do not need to push in the cutch to start the car. It is better for the thrust bearings in the tranny anyways. If you want this fucntion, route the wires that I bridged to the button on the pedal.
