1jzgte-vvti cuts off
hello community, i recently have a 98 sc 300 with a 1jzgte-vvti and its stock no modifications whatsoever, but this weekend i found out something interesting , i was cruising on the high and decided to squeeze it and when i got to 120 the car backs down , there was like a puff sound so i pulled over thinking something came off or loose and nothing was out of place. i tried again and the same thing once i hit 120.00 mph it backs off . i was thinking maybe it has speedcut or fuel cut . any suggestion would be greatly appreciated , thank you very much. i bought the car like this , and the person has moved overseas , so i cannot contact him , i guess in a way i am going to start finding out things the hard way . i don't even know what type of ecu i am running .

JDM ecu will cut out at around 115 on the pre vvti 1jz's... I assume its the same on the vvti as well. You'll need a speedcut defense (cheap) or a standalone system (expensive) to remody this.

Thank you very much for your reply , i really appriciate it . i certainly will do . also i had another question in regards to the engine itself. i am looking for 500 whp on this engine its fairly new , with about 35k miles give of take according to the gentle man who i purchased it from , is this possible without openinig the engine itself, i know i am going to have to upgrade a couple of things , turbo, fuel, managemnet, manifold, drivetrain, but as far as the engine goes will it hold that amount of power.

The easy and cheapest route would be to disconnect the Speedometer
