Default Making an intake tube to go with a BFI?

I already have a BFI and was thinking of having something made to replace the stock intake tubing that leads from the MAF to the throttle body inlet. I can't imagine the resonator in the stock pipe helps with airflow too much and it looks like it might be possible to create a somewhat straighter path as well.

What do you guys think? Has anyone ever done this before?

The reason why the BFI makes more power than an Injen intake is because the BFI's plastic intake does not absorb so much heat like the Injen's does...

If you can make a plastic,cf,fiberglass, etc pipe then do it.

I've seen people put the injen tube on with the bfi box. Its all for looks though.

Cover an Injen tube with heat wrap, maybe?

But since that would be uglier than stock with questionable gains, I'd just leave it be...

Exactly what I was thinking. I have my intake pipe on my turbo foil and header wrapped. Gotta keep that air cold

I was thinking about making something along with the BFI.. Theres all kinds of room under that pasenger side headlight, if you remove that fender piece. Talk about a straight shot into the intake assembly.. I posted something and was asking suggestions, but no good feedback from it at all... Most people just said more noise and no gains, but no one has ever done it.. well at least I havent seen it... Good luck, and keep us posted on your ideas..

i've read somewhere(i think it was in planetsoarer), that deleting the intake resonator in NA form, would actually rob the engine power.. i think iirc, they did dyno runs to prove this..

I have been thinking of putting an intake on my sc400 to save gas and give my engine a little performance boost...

what kits do you recomend for doing this?

And whats wrong with the one from injen? it looks cleaner and is more durable than the plastic ones....
