Default Cam gears for a 300

hey guys, was wondering about tossing some cam gears on my sc300 and seen some TRD ones from japan for sale.

not too familiar with what needs to be done besides installation but are all cam gears adjustable? or would ones like the TRD model just need to be installed and go.
proffesional installation of course

as well anyone have experience with the response from our car upgrading to some performance cam gears like HKS, unorthodox, OBX, fidanza?

also on the website suprastore.com i believe it is they sell adjustable gears with sheets that supposedly list the exact adjustments for optimal power.
sound believeable?

any and all constructive input is very appreciated

If you're boosted, then you can pick up some incremental gains on the exhaust side. In my situation the intake side was less responsive and was left at "0".

Probably some better places to spend $. My engine was out and we were doing valve stem seals so it was an easy thing to do at the time.

+1

I believe that you will not gain as much as you think with this mod, unless you are already moderately/heavily modified.

Why don’t you look into a safc or something similar, now I know you have a 300 but when I slapped one on my 400 I got very good gains, maybe the same is possible with your 300. Or you can just go the intake/headers/exhaust route

i will definetly look into the Safc but wouldnt it be beneficial to have a few more mods besides my actual cold air intake/exhaust?

It would, that’s why my recommendation would be headers and a safc2. I think that with intake/headers/exhaust and a tune you can squeeze a good amount of power outta your 300.

with adjustable cam gears, any car can benefit from them, NA and turbo. The only thing is you need some dyno time and a fuel tuner to make the most out of it. I would follow Lexiss_SC430's reccomendation and get the easy stuff out of the way. If you have to change out your timing belt in the future, maybe then slap those gears on along with a streetable set of cams.

Also in terms of an "optimal" adjustment numbers on the car, it differs from engine to engine. It also depends on atmospheric conditions, boost pressures, etc. Even though two engines look the same they can be completely different under all those nuts and bolts.
