throwout and pilot bearing pricing
i only have about 2000 miles on my competition stage 4 clutch, but my throwout bearing already makes noise, so next week in autoshop class, i will be replacing the folowing throwout bearing, pilot bearing, getting the flywheel turned all oils changed ect, i will be using only oem bearings, where would be the best place to buy the parts and how much should i really be paying for the oem bearings? i saw a throwout bearing for 84 at carson toyota, that sounds a little high?

I thought I was hearing things but guess the throwout and pilot bearings on my SC are doing the same thing. Strange squeeling noise but when I press the clutch it goes away. The best place so far for oem parts I can find online is at cheaptoyotaparts.com and the release bearing is $70.03 and the pilot bearing is only $5.08. They don't have a listing for Lexus SC300 but seeing that the supra and SC are almost identical I used the parts listing for the 93-98 supra.
BTW, how the Competition stage 4 clutch? How much power can it handle? Reason I ask cause I am in the process of going na-t and will need a new clutch to replace my stock W58. Is your 93 SC na-t?

Depends on where you buy it and if yours friends with the parts manager guys. I know i paid around 70 bucks for my throw-out bearing at westminster lexus because i NEEDED IT ASAP. I'm sure if i went to my friends at south coast toyota, i would get a far better price.
google toyotapartsales and pembroke pines lexus trademotion, both those sites give u fair prices. If you take their quotes to a dealership, usually they will drop their prices. At westminster lexus they wanted 100 but i got it down to 70 because of my print out from pembroke pines lexus.
