NA-T Build Thread: 1996 SC300
Well, I know how much everyone enjoys these tyes of threads (at least I do ), so here's another one. Its been a long time coming, ever since I wrecked my SC with a 1JZ swap several years ago:

I bought my current SC300 a year ago with the intention of doing NA-T this time because of the low mileage on the car. Just now went past 69k miles.
Here is my current parts list for the build:
Pictures to come soon of the massive pile of parts, and I am currently planning an installation date. If anyone lives in NC and would like to help, keep an eye for another thread in the Southeast forum with the planned weekend.

Sounds good. I think the toughest part might be the clutch installation because I obviously dont have a lift or transmission jack in my garage. I'm thinking about having it done before hand, but most shops want to charge an arm and a leg. I'm thinking that my best chnace might be going to that hole-in-the-wall shop we used last time for the differential work and seeing how much they would want to either just use their lift and air tools...or just having them do it.
Jeremy is pretty confident in the headgasket installation, which I have never done before.

Hey man
Yeah its been a long time coming. Its been a very busy time in my life though. We bought a house in November, and I just got married on Feb. 28th. So its been hard to find the time/money for the car. We are going on our honeymoon in April so I want to try and get this up and running before then.

Just a small update. Was planning on having everything installed at this point, but I have a few fitment issues with the turbo to sort through. But the big job of installing the 1.3mm headgasket is complete, and the car is up and running again!!! I've never had an engine apart like this, and put it all back together by myself with only my factory service manual to guide me So I'm pretty proud of myself. I also deleted the EGR system, the charcoal canister, vacuum tank, tons of vacuum lines, and some other vacuum switchign valves.
The only problem I have is a CEL from the bank 1 O2 sensor...says I am running lean. Dont know how this is possible, I reinstalled the stock injectors with new O-rings, all the fuel lines torqued down to spec with new crush washers, no fuel is leaking anywhere. FPR is hooked up to the right sources I believe. My best guess is that I damaged the O2 sensor when removing it from the stock exhaust manifold. I soaked it in PB blaster to get it loose. Anyone seen this happen before? I'm going to try installing my AEM UEGO this week to see what I am really running at.....
Its wierd to have a CEL light of that nature, because the car is running SOOOO good. Anyways, heres some pictures.
