Default Change filter now wont start

Hi all i change the filter on my sc400 and once completed the car startup after 2 tries. I pour 5 gallons in the car and now it wont start. I try starting it for a week now and still nothing. I have another SC so i am not stranded. Any suggestions?

What filter did u change? Ur description is not clear at all. 5 gallons of what? I have to assume fuel filter cuz if it was 5 gallons of oil that could be the reason it didnt start. Please clarify.

check the direction of flow. some filters wont allow back flow, so if by some chance you put it backwards, that could be the reason

You probably put it on backwards. That's the only thing that would really make sense, unless you had something else fail right when you installed the filter.

Checked the filter on both SC's and both are on the same flow direction. Once starts on the dime and the other sounds like its stavring for gas. I will take it to a shop so they can put it on lift and see if i damage the line. I wasnt sure if they was a kill switch that i needed to reset.

correct me if im wrong but i remember reading somewhere that after you change the filter, initially it woud be hard to start because fuel needs to saturate the filter.

That can be the case sometimes...might be the case, but it sounds like he's attempted starting it several times now, it should be working by now. I've seen some cars take about 30 sec to a min of cranking to start the vehicle though, so you might be onto the right idea SC30096.

I changed my filter the other week and it started right up.

Moved.
Either the filter is on backwards, line is twisted/ kinked or hasn't
cracked engine long enough to reprime.
Assuming the car was fine before filter replacement.
