best intercooler for the money?

which one to buy? I have seen some that go for a grand!! 'm not looking to spend that much, i have about 200 to shop for a decent performing intercooler. which one do u guys recommend???

FiSta Dec 16, 2008 07:03 PM

well for 200 you might just get a no name core...do you have the piping already? if not get ready to fork out at least another 200...think i spent like 600 for my kit w/o install

Dude, I think you will only have hope on ebay with a no name Chinese core. If it comes with no end tanks, you will spend some money getting them welded and finished...

Good Luck.

On ebay, many are like 100-200 bucks and the name cxracing comes up a lot and they seem to have a good rep, what do you guys think??
BY the way, which measurments should fit in the SC???

Go with drift motion. Why do you guys never think of them when it comes to parts? They make quality **** for a pretty cheap price. A 4" thick FMIC will only set you back around 165, and piping is around the same price. Obviously if you find quality parts for cheap, by all means go to town, but they make good stuff.

How is it compare performance wise?

I have the CXracing one on mine with ebay piping and it works fine. I did mine for about 250 or so.

ONejay, how is the quality in intercooler? And how restrictive does it look from the inside? I was looking for pics for the inside but i can't find any...

From what I can tell it looks like it flows perfectly fine. Looks much better than the stock one. Its a pretty basic thing to build, so I'm sure most companies with some level of competency can do a good job.

I was looking at getting the CXRacing 4" Core with the 3" pipping. For the price and reviews I don't think we can go wrong with it.

ITC kits

for budget and I can reccoment CX racing not a name brand, yes china, taiwann suff but it works, i have some here at my place if you wanna see, a BIG core and piping would run about 200ish, Im building their fd3s v mount kit, their radiators are amazing by the way, on a sr20det it takes almost 8 miniutes for the thermostat to open....

CX Racing here, works just fine.
