EGR block offs......?

has anyone heard of people having any engine problems after installing a block plate kit? If its just for mpg I dont care, this car is my weekend toy.

I blocked off my egr and have no problems here. Ocasional check engine light and trac controll light come on,but it goes away after restart .Otherwise everything works just as it did before removal.
