That seems reasonable to me with the amount of work that's required to do it. They have to extend the whole wiring harness, it's a pretty long process. 1000 bucks is like 10 hours basically, which is a good deal in my opinion.

Depends how well they know the swap. $1000 does seem pretty cheap IMO, but are you sure they've done a 1JZ swap before? If not you might be set back for a couple of weeks. How long would it take for the swap?

Just do it yourself if you have a garage. It was my first ever swap, and it took me about 8 or 9 days. (The biggest job I had done before that was brakes/spark plugs)

its a pretty well known performance shop here in kansas city.. he built a few 10 and 9 sec hondas for himself.. he told me.. he's never done that swap.. he has 2 dynos in his shop but tuning mostly hondas.. so i guess thats a fair price..

Yeah it's a good deal, but before you hand him over your car, you better make sure he knows what's all involved in doing this swap, because my guess is once he starts he'd probably jack up the price, lol...1J is a bit harder than a B16 into a Civic. :P

I have a guy locally thats going to do my swap, he just finished his first sc3 1jz swap and also did most of the modding, the car turn out 600whp. He said if im staying auto the price for the swap is 1k if im going manual he said 1700. Honestly, a shop that charges over 2k for the swap is jacking. if you find a rear sump 1J, all thats really entailed is extending the harness, changing engine brackets and putting the new motor in.... not worth 3k worth of labor honestly...
